Steven C. Brisson
Downtown Mackinac Island 
Steven Brisson recieved a B.A. in History from Nothern Michigan University in 1989 and a M.A. from the Cooperstown Graduate Program in History Museum Studies in 1992. His museum career began as a student assistant with the Michigan Bureau of History at the Michigan Iron Industry Museum and Fayette Historic Townsite. He completed a senior internship at the Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village in 1991. He served as a curator for the State Historical Society of Wisconsin Sites Division from 1992 through 1995. He became curator of collections for Mackinac State Historic Parks in 1996. He was appointed chief curator in 2003 and deputy director in 2011. He is the author of five books on Mackinac history including Picturesque Mackinac: the Photographs of William H. Gardiner, 1896-1915. He lives with his wife Lisa Craig Brisson, Daughter Emma and sons Matthew and Andrew on Market Street in the summer and Cheboygan in the winter. The focus of Downtown Mackinac Island, is images of the “downtown” area of Mackinac Isalnd, from Windermere Point to Mission Point.

July 13 Marionette Show, Stevens Puppets presents: Sleeping Beauty 2:00pm
Hand carved, beautifully costumed marionettes enact the play with the help of skilled manipulators. Specially painted scenes and furnishings in correct proportion create the magic effect that causes you to say of the marionettes, “They are so lifelike.” Accented by Tchaikovsky’s music, the dramatic and humorous script by Peabody Award winner Martin Stevens, and the gorgeous costumes by the internationally acclaimed Margie, make this familiar tale live again, delightfully.

Judy Cook, A Quiet Corner of the war 
Judy Cook is the editor of “”A Quiet Corner of the War: The Civil War Letters of Gilbert and Esther Claflin, Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, 1862–1863.”. Cook tours universities and historical societies in the United States and United Kingdom, performing multimedia presentations based on the Claflin letters and songs of the Civil War era.

Organization for Bat Conservation (OBC) is a nonprofit organization based in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan established to further Bat Conservation. It is a conservationist organization, founded by Rob Mies and Kim Williams in the late 1990s.

Lori Rader-Day, Mystery Writer 
Lori Rader-Day’s debut mystery, The Black Hour, won the 2015 Anthony Award for Best First Novel and was a finalist for the 2015 Mary Higgins Clark Award. Her second novel, Little Pretty Things, won the 2016 Mary Higgins Clark Award and was a nominee for the Anthony Award for Best Paperback Original. Little Pretty Things was named a 2015 “most arresting crime novel” by Kirkus Reviews and one of the top ten crime novels of the year by Booklist. Her third novel, The Day I Died, will be released by Harper Collins William Morrow on April 11, 2017. She lives in Chicago.
